Natty Hatty (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates in the youth sports ecosystem, where we process information related to players and athletes, many of whom are children under the age of 13.
This Children’s Privacy & COPPA Notice explains how we collect, use, store, and protect children’s information in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable laws.
We take children’s privacy extremely seriously and enforce strict safeguards to ensure their safety and data protection.
1. What Personal Information We Collect From Children
Natty Hatty may collect information about minors when a parent, guardian, coach, or organization provides it to us as part of youth sports operations.
We may collect:
Child’s name
Date of birth or age group
Gender (optional)
Team assignment and sports details
Jersey numbers or roster identifiers
Medical notes (if required by the organization; optional)
Emergency contact details (via parent or guardian)
Waiver signatures (parent/guardian signs on behalf of minor)
Attendance, performance, and participation data
Photos or videos only if uploaded by a parent/guardian/authorized coach
We do NOT knowingly collect:
Social Security numbers
Financial information
Biometric data
Location tracking data
Contacts or device information
Any information directly from a child without parental involvement
2. How We Obtain Information About Children
Natty Hatty does not allow children under 13 to create accounts.
All children’s data is provided through:
A parent or legal guardian
A coach or authorized staff member
A youth sports organization
A league, club, or facility management team
Children cannot directly upload personal information or communicate through Natty Hatty without adult oversight.
3. Parental Consent Requirements (COPPA Compliance)
Natty Hatty requires verifiable parental consent before collecting or processing any personal information of a child under 13.
This occurs through:
Parent/guardian account creation
Signing digital waivers & agreements
Consent during registration for tryouts, teams, leagues, tournaments, or programs
Verification via email, IP address, and signing audit logs
No child’s account, profile, or roster entry is created without parental or organizational authorization.
4. How We Use Children’s Information
We use minors’ information only for legitimate youth sports purposes, including:
Registration for teams, events, leagues, tournaments, tryouts
Managing rosters and attendance
Communicating essential updates to parents/guardians
Processing waivers, medical forms, and emergency contacts
Athlete safety tracking (check-ins, pickups, participation logs)
Providing age-appropriate division or bracket placement
Enabling coaches to manage teams effectively
Ensuring integrity of signatures and consent forms
Providing customer support to parents and organizations
We do NOT use children’s data for:
Marketing
Advertising
Profiling
Behavioral tracking
AI/ML training
Selling or sharing with third parties
5. How Coaches & Organizations Must Handle Minors’ Data
Youth sports organizations using Natty Hatty must:
Collect only the minimum data needed
Obtain parental permission before uploading a child’s information
Use information solely for sports-related activities
Not share children’s information outside approved team operations
Protect roster data and avoid unauthorized disclosures
Follow all applicable youth safety laws and league regulations
Respect deletion requests from parents or guardians
Violations may result in removal from the platform.
6. Rights of Parents and Guardians
Parents/guardians have full control over their child’s information.
Under COPPA, you may:
Request to review the personal information we have about your child
Request deletion of your child’s information
Request corrections or updates
Withdraw consent and request account or roster removal
Request details on how the data was collected and used
Prohibit further collection or use of your child’s information

7. Data Storage, Security & Retention for Minors
We apply the highest security standards to children’s data, including:
Encrypted storage (AES-256)
Encrypted transmission (TLS 1.2+)
Strict access control
Device/IP-level signature verification
Audit trails for every action
No third-party sharing
No advertising tracking
Retention:
Waivers & documents: held 7 years (legal standard)
Rosters: retained while the organization account is active
Photos/videos: only until the parent or organization removes them
All children’s data is securely deleted upon verified request.
We never use minors’ data to train AI, build profiles, or for commercial resale.
8. When We May Share Children’s Information
We share minor-related data only when necessary for youth sports operations, such as:
With the child’s team coaches
With the organization (club, facility, league) managing the child
With emergency or medical personnel if required
With legal authorities if mandated by law (e.g., safety investigations)
With payment processors (only parent/guardian payment info—never the child’s)
We never sell or rent children’s information.
9. Photos, Videos & Media of Minors
Any photo or video uploaded to Natty Hatty must:
Be uploaded by a parent/guardian or authorized coach
Be appropriate and sports-related
Not include sensitive personal details
Parents may request deletion of any image at any time.
10. Children’s Direct Use of the Platform
Children under 13 cannot:
Create accounts
Communicate through the platform
Upload content
Submit forms
Sign waivers
Make payments
Manage team rosters
All actions involving minors are routed through adults.
